Vacation Bible School returns July 19th-23rd at Faith Lutheran Church. The theme for this year is “Rainforest Falls: Exploring the Nature of God”, where children ages pre-k to high school are invited to join us for a tree-mendous adventure! Rainforest Falls VBS offers a variety of activities rooted in helping kids grow in their relationship with God: catchy songs, team-building games, fun crafts, and awesome Bible-learning experiences kids can see, hear, and touch.
God is our creator and our safe place, He is love, He is forever, and He knows everything; Wow God!
Starting at 5:30pm with a meal, we’ll show kids what it means to be rooted in relationship with God, a refuge in life’s storms! As kids trek beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, they’ll explore who God is and how much he loves them. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings.
Each day concludes with our Canopy Closing, a daily celebration of God’s goodness that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. Overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees, and colorful creatures, Rainforest Falls VBS is designed to immerse kids into a faith-filled adventure of discovering the true nature of God!
Adult Bible Study
Also during Vacation Bible School, Julie Humphreys and Gennene Parker will be leading our class for adults! We encourage parents, grandparents, family, and friends to join us for a meal and a 5-session bible study that uses scriptural lessons and inspiring clips from the movie WAR ROOM to explore the true power of prayer!
PRAYER IS A POWERFUL WEAPON
This Bible Study (featuring five group discussion sessions, video clips from the film WAR ROOM by Alex & Stephen Kendrick, and personal-study opportunities for ongoing spiritual growth) is designed to help you establish prayer as a powerful weapon against spiritual warfare. When we come to know Jesus as our Savior and Lord, our journey is only beginning. It can be easy to become wrapped up in our hectic lives and forget our first Love and the subtle Enemy who wants to keep us from Him. This Bible study serves as a challenging reminder of vital truths we can easily overlook or forget, with strategies for prayer and spiritual discipline.
“But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:6
WAR ROOM is a 2015 American Christian drama film that explores the transformative power of prayer in marriages, parenting, careers, friendships, and everyday challenges. Through this Bible Study, we will be called to evaluate our spiritual life and growth, to uncover our true character, to trust in the God of grace, to declare victory over our true Enemy, and to find our identity in our Savior. We hope you’ll join us as we learn more about prayer together and how to wield prayer as a powerful weapon!

Each day, Rainforest Falls VBS features a “Bible Buddy” with one Bible Story, one Key Bible Verse from the Book of Psalms, and a Bible Point about God’s nature that helps kids grow deep in faith and remember how awesome God is long after VBS is over!
We will also be doing Dress-Up Days during VBS! Each day is themed to relate to our Rainforest Falls Bible Points. We encourage everyone to join in the fun and dress up for each day’s theme!
